  • Prospective members sign up for free, but have no access to any of Maker Station facilities.
  • Prospective Members will be included in all Maker Station communications.
  • Prospective members can upgrade to a Basic or Full membership.
  • Prospective members can access all online functions of the Maker Station website.

Full Member Just get making

Per Month For 6 months
  • Full members sign up for R1250/month for 6 months at a time
  • R150 Once-off sign up fee to get you processes and issue you with a membership tag to access facilities
  • Included in the membership is access to book a 2x2m Workstation, and the free to use tools on the 1st floor tool-board
  • All access needs to be booked in advanced
  • Additional 2x2m Workstations can be booked and paid for on-line, and is not included in this package
  • Additional Facilities can be booked online, and is included in the membership, provided the member is qualified to use the equipment
  • In case a member is not interested or able to learn to use a piece of equipment they can book the attentional services of a technician

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes you can bring your own tools. They remain your responsibility to look after, and can only be used under the MS rules. So No-one that is not competent to use it may touch it, work in appropriate area with appropriate safety gear. etc.
MS is a workshop environment, and is not a pet friendly place. it is noisy, and full of dangerous materials and chemicals.

Do fluffs a vavour and leave them at home.

The Maker Cafe area is public space and is everyone’s coffee, meeting, WiFi, chill and hangout space.
Visitors are welcome, but are 100% your responsibility. No visitor/non-members may work in Maker Station on any equipment.
MS do not stock any materials or consumables, you need to bring your own.

There are a few exceptions:

  • people leave offcuts etc. behind that we will hand out when available.
  • one or 2 machines are hard to stock with consumables and you can buy those from MS

We run a few workshops, but all members can apply to run workshops at Maker Station.
At the moment most of the learning happens “on the job”, but we are planning more regular workshops for 2017, watch this spot.
